' The principle of Transformation'

 

This biological element is derived from the combination of Teja (energy) and Jala (water). Pitta is hot, light and clear. It moves upwards or downwards depending upon dominancy of energy and water elements, respectively.

 

Function
 

1        Heat production.

2        Increase appetite and thirst.

3        Maintains color, complexion and luster of skin.

4        Maintains vision.

5        Increases the catabolic processes.

6        Improves the mental activities.

7        Concerned with various emotions like joy, fear anger and courage.
